OLovesM Bags Giveaway!

I don’t know about you, but I love LOVE shopping and I love accessorizing!  Jewelry, shoes and bags are my favorite accessories…well, is there anything left?  Anyhow, I am a sucker for a cute bag and when I found these OlovesM bags I was in shopping heaven!

The story behind these amazing bags will have you hooked, there’s no way you’ll be able to resist the yoga cuteness, that’s right…yoga!
The idea of creating bags from overproduced yoga mats came to OlovesM founder, Merle while she was doing none other than taking a yoga class.  While she was supposed to be “OMing” out, Merle’s mind was busy creating, designing and dreaming of bags that are mostly made from new yoga mats that are over produced.  The fabrics used are either over-runs, seconds, ends of rolls, or USA-made.  Even the straps for the OlovesM bags come from the webbing left over when a sandal company sold its business.
The unique name of the company has a few meanings, one of which is based on the OM, which is what you chant in yoga and since that’s where the idea came to Merle it’s perfect!

OlovesM offers several different types of bags, from the smaller clutch to the diaper bags.  I’m in love with the Sport bag because they come in so handy while being active.  The Sport tote can be used to and from the gym, the kids’ activities and as a work bag.
Of course there’s a yoga bag…you can’t have a bag made out of a yoga mat without creating a yoga bag, it’s the whole idea behind why the company was created!

Pumpkin Pie Yogurt

I think by now you know how much I love fall!  I can’t get enough of being outside this time of year, running through the falls leaves, hiking in the perfect crisp weather, not to mention all of the festive parties and holidays!

Last weekend the hubs and I went to Boulder for an early morning hike when we came across this really cute old fashioned restaurant that neither of us knew existed.  We love being spontaneous so we shared breakfast and a bloody Mary on the deck and watched the deer come down from the hills…yep, it was really that cool.
The breakfast was perfect and full of comfort foods, one of which was a yummy little pumpkin yogurt recipe…so, being the blogger I am I had to recreate it and add my own twist…and being the generous blogger I am I had to share it with you.

Pumpkin Pie Yogurt

You’re going to love this recipe, it’s packed with protein and you’ll have it whipped up in no time.
What you need:
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 8 ounces plain Greek yogurt (you can use vanilla for a sweeter flavor but it has more sugar and less protein than plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1tbs raw nuts and dried cranberries (optional)
  • Drizzle of maple syrup
What you do:
  • Stir the pumpkin puree and the pumpkin pie spice into the yogurt.
  • Sprinkle with nuts and cranberries.
  • Add a drizzle of maple syrup.
This yogurt recipe is naturally sweet and adds raw nuts for extra crunch and protein.

Leave the I’m Too Busy to Workout Attitude Behind!

I’ve been terribly guilty of not taking care of myself, blaming it on my job and continuing to add more and more to my already busy schedule…then complaining about it!   Ahh, it feels so good to get that off my chest!
My poor girl friends have had to endure my endless bitching and my husband has had to try and keep up with me during the weekends so that I can try to get a week’s worth of workouts in in two days!
All of that’s behind me now…I’ve had a workout revelation!

Stop the Glorification of Busy

For years I’ve lived by the “go hard or go home” attitude and it just isn’t working at the moment.  As a first grade teacher the school year means I am super busy with work and I find it hard to regularly get up at 4am to workout but, if I put it off until after work I miss out on my own children’s activities.  Enter quick workout tips;
  • Find a workout buddy to keep you motivated.  Go for a run, walk or a yoga class with this friend…it’s great bonding time.
  • Keep a gym bag and an extra set of workout clothes in your car to get a workout in whenever the opportunity arrises.
  • Workout at home ~ Run outside or do some total body workouts with at home weights.
Everyone is different so don’t be afraid to try new things and don’t forget to slow down and make time for yourself!  Working out just a few minutes a day will significantly improve your health.  Our bodies respond to consistent exercise not time based exercise so stop the “I’m too busy” attitude and get fit!
